Cusco, Peru

We started our first morning in Cusco on October 5 with a great cup of coffee and acai bowl at Qura. While at the cafe, we read a bunch of flyers for yoga classes in the city and decided we must go to one in the next few days.

After coffee, we walked through the neighborhood near our hostel called San Blas. The streets are filled with coffee bars and boutique shops (favorites are Hilo and L’atelier) 😍.

After walking around for a while and having lunch at Organika (which was an awesome, inexpensive farm-to-table spot), we decided to go to the free walking tour. The tour focused a lot on the history of the city and we even got to visit the San Pedro Market!

After the tour, we relaxed for a bit. For dinner we tried to find a bar that was playing the Patriots game, but we were out of luck since it was the Peru vs. Argentina fútbol match. We ended up having dinner at the sister restaurant to Organika called Rucula

On October 6, we went to 9am yoga at The Yoga Room Cusco and it was amazing! We went back to Qura for another acai bowl and then decided to stroll around the city for the day. We got some last minute essentials for our trek to Machu Picchu (i.e. rain pants and water bottles). We also went to an amazing viewpoint to see the city from up above!

We had a quick dinner at a vegan restaurant which was amazing and then went to orientation for our trek which begins veryyyy early tomorrow morning!! 😬
