The Sacred Valley and Cusco, Peru

On Oct 10 we took a cab from the Ollyantambo train station to the best bed and breakfast we have ever been to – The Green House

When we arrived we were so exhausted. Lucky for us, Daniel, our host, had a three course meal prepared. He explained that he doesn’t ever go to grocery stores, but rather gets all ingredients from the farms in the town. We had the best dinner and best night’s sleep since starting our adventure!!

On the morning of Oct 11 we woke up to the beautiful views of the meditation garden!

For breakfast, Daniel had prepared a delicous fruit platter, homemade bread with homemade jam (strawberries, plums, and rosemary), and the best coffee! We were in heaven!

We spent the entire day doing absolutely nothing. We read, walked a few doors down for lunch at an ex pat cafe with delicious food, and then went back to The Green House to continue to relax.

We had another delicious, three course meal for dinner and went to bed by 8pm 😇.

On Oct 12, we spent the morning relaxing and doing yoga in the garden. For lunch we went back to Viva Peru where we met some Americans who have moved to The Sacred Valley. They are so relaxed, friendly, and loving! They said they came to visit, fell in love, and moved for good!

After lunch we, sadly, left The Green House to make our way back to Cusco.

As per Daniel’s advice, we organized a taxi to take us to a few spots on our way back to Cusco.

Stop 1 was Las Salinas de Maras.

Stop 2 was Moray.

Stop 3 was Chinchero.

When we got to Cusco we were exhausted. We went to a quick dinner and went to bed early.

Oct 13 was our last day in Cusco. We had crepes for breakfast since our hostel was next to a crepe restaurant. The rest of the day was spent wandering around. We went to the Alpaca Expeditions office to drop off some clothing donations, Mercado San Pedro to get a famous juice, and a yoga class at Healing House

Next stop: Lima for our volunteering week!
